Privacy Policy

ChattyMenu Pro is designed to help users analyze restaurant menus and food photos. The app may process camera images, selected photo library items, nutrition inputs, and optional Health data when those features are enabled by the user.

The app uses a backend service for AI responses and may send the content you choose to analyze to that service. ChattyMenu Pro does not create an app account, sell personal data, or use this data for tracking or advertising.

Data We May Process

Depending on the features you choose, ChattyMenu Pro may process camera images, selected photo library items, extracted menu text, food and beverage logs, allergen and dietary preferences, optional Health data, and purchase entitlement status.

Your profile, favorites, history, and saved results remain in local app storage on your device and are not synced through iCloud.

How We Use Data

Data is used to generate menu and food insights, estimate nutrition, personalize results around your preferences, sync optional nutrition information with Apple Health, verify Supporter membership access, troubleshoot issues, and respond to support requests.

AI and Backend Processing

When you explicitly request Cloud AI analysis, the selected image, extracted text, user-entered prompt or meal description, and the requested output language may be sent to our backend and OpenAI to produce the requested result. For menu scans, profile, allergen, dietary, calorie, and health-goal preferences are applied on the device after the Cloud result returns. These requests are not tied to a ChattyMenu account or used for tracking. Do not upload private documents or images you do not want processed for this purpose.

Our proxy does not persist request bodies or response bodies and instructs the AI service not to store generated responses for later API retrieval. The AI service may retain customer content in safety and abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law or reasonably needed to protect the service or others from harm.

Processing Diagnostics

To help diagnose failed scans, the app keeps a bounded technical log on your device. It can include timestamps, app and operating-system versions, scan and request correlation identifiers, detected language codes, processing stages, stable error codes, HTTP status, item counts, and a rounded OCR confidence category. It never includes menu text, photos, prompts, AI response content, Health data, or profile data.

The log is limited to the most recent 150 events and 14 days. It is not uploaded automatically. You can explicitly export a report from Settings or a scan error screen, clear only the diagnostic log, or remove it with Clear Local Data.

Health Data

Apple Health access is optional. If enabled, ChattyMenu Pro uses Health data only for the nutrition and hydration features you authorize. Health data is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

Retention and Deletion

Saved history, favorites, analyses, chat sessions, meal plans, insights, generated images, and daily activity logs remain on your device until you use Clear Local Data or remove the app. Your profile and app preferences remain until you change them or remove the app. Local processing diagnostics are automatically limited to 14 days and 150 events. Clearing local data does not affect Apple purchase records or the limited AI-service safety retention described above. ChattyMenu Pro does not keep a user-linked backend analysis history. Your Choices

You can decline camera, photo, or Health permissions, revoke permissions in iOS Settings, use Clear Local Data to remove saved activity while keeping your profile and app preferences, export or clear privacy-safe scan diagnostics from the app, cancel memberships through your Apple Account settings, and stop using the app at any time. If you need privacy help, email support.
